Freebound Life is built on experience, not prompts.
I spent three decades in financial services across London, New York, and Asia before retiring in 2025 and returning to Seoul. The ideas shared here are grounded in that experience — the decisions, the mistakes, the observations, and the patterns accumulated over a thirty-year career.
AI can be useful for refining how information is presented. It cannot supply the experience, the perspective, or the judgment behind these ideas.
Every article is personally reviewed, edited, and published under my name. I take responsibility for the ideas, perspectives, and conclusions presented here.

How Articles Are Created
The starting point for every article is a question, an observation, or an idea I believe is worth exploring.
AI may assist with limited editorial tasks, such as improving clarity or readability. It does not determine the subject, the perspective, the argument, or the conclusion of an article.
The experiences, the reasoning, the observations, and the editorial judgment behind the content are my own. Every fact, figure, and date is checked against a primary source before publication, and anything that does not verify is cut — including the numbers that would have made the better story.
AI is a tool for expression. It is not the source of the experience.
A language model can write fluently about a life it has not lived. The thirty years are mine.
About the Images
The author photograph at the end of each article is a real photograph of me. It is not generated.
The lead image on each article is a detail from a painting in the public domain. The sources are the Metropolitan Museum of Art (Open Access), the Rijksmuseum, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Nothing is added and nothing is removed. The image is cropped, lightened where the original is very dark, and tinted slightly toward the background color of this site.
The diagrams inside the articles — the scored instruments and worksheets — are drawn for this site. They are not photographs and they are not stock.
No image on this site is presented as documentary evidence for a claim in the text.
About Examples and Stories
Some articles use composite characters to illustrate situations that experienced professionals commonly face — Marcus working out what to charge, Diane working out what to teach.
Each composite is assembled from a pattern I have watched repeat across many careers and many conversations. No composite is a single real person, the names are invented, and identifying details are changed. Where a composite appears, the article says so in the text rather than leaving you to guess.
These examples exist to make an idea concrete and easier to hold on to. They are not case studies, and they should not be read as an account of any specific individual.
Independence and Transparency
